LWVGTA: Local Proposal Information Session

 Let‘s Learn Together About the Local Ballot Proposals for November 2026

The proposals under consideration for the November election include Grand Traverse 911 funding, Grand Traverse County Trails Millage, the Grand Traverse Conservation District millage renewal, BATA millage and the downtown Traverse City TIF plan. The evening will include the opportunity to ask questions of representatives from these taxing jurisdictions.

This is not a debate or a forum featuring opposing viewpoints. Instead, each ballot proposal will be explained in clear, factual terms, including what it would do, its expected costs and benefits, and how it could affect a homeowner’s tax bill. A question-and-answer session will follow each presentation. Questions may be submitted in advance to info@lwvgta.org or in writing during the event.

We will also present information on how to better understand your property tax bills and the voting process.
